Filter Cleaning

Nothing is more important for hot tub water quality than the filtration system. A dirty and clogged or worn-out filter will fail in its job of trapping contaminants and put an unnecessary strain on the spa pump.

The frequency with which it is necessary to clean your hot tub filters will depend on your chosen method of water sanitation and the bather load, but it is likely to be between once per week and once per month, and certainly at every water change. Hot tub filters should also be replaced approximately annually.

If your water quality starts to deteriorate unexpectedly then the cause is very likely to be old or dirty filters.
