How to Identify and Buy the Correct Hot Tub Filters

1. If you know the make of your hot tub select it from this list and then select the most likely option from the choice of filters available for your make of tub.

2. If you can find a reference number on your filter look for it in this list.

How Can I Tell When a Filter Cartridge Needs to be Replaced?

With no moving parts or electrical switches to fail, spa filters cartridges do not have a defined end-of-life. Instead the media will gradually "clog up" and degrade over time. In a typical spa, the culprits that damage the filter are perspiration and body oils, combined with soaps, chemicals, and very fine particulate. Assuming the filter is properly maintained and correctly sized to the pump, the following are indicators to help you determine when the filter cartridge needs replacing:

Lower water flow rate than you have been used to

Otherwise unexplained deterioration in water quality

Shorter time required between cleanings

Physical failure, such as a tear in the media or center core collapse

How Do I Maximize the Life of a Spa Filter Cartridge?

Establish a routine filter cleaning schedule based on the amount of spa use and clean the cartridge in the recommended way

Never use a stiff brush to clean the media

Maintain your spa water chemistry in proper balance

Alternate two sets of filter cartridges when cleaning and allow filters to dry completely before returning them to the spa

As a general rule of thumb, spa filters will need replacing around every 12 months but, if you are able let your filters dry between uses they will last longer. For this reason it is sensible to keep two sets of filters and alternate their use with each clean.

High temperatures and a wet environment can make an unprotected filter surface a target for the growth of bacteria. We offer a range of filter cartridges where the surfaces are coated with microban antimicrobial protection to inhibit the growth of bacteria and reduce staining, odours and degradation of the filter surfaces.

Microban hot tub filters are easier to clean and also stay fresher between cleanings.

Blaster Automatic Filter Cleaner

Blaster 1000 Automatic Filter Cleaner for hot tub filters The Blaster Automatic Filter Cleaner prolongs filter life. the Blaster automatically rotates cartridge filters whilst a series of powerful jets direct water to clean between the filter pleats.

The Blaster cleans the filter horizontally allowing the dirt and debris to easily fall from the filter and avoid the risk of it sticking as with vertical or upright cleaning.

To use, simply connect the Blaster to a hose using the hozelock connector (supplied) and rest the spa filter in the Blaster cradle. It takes just a few minutes to clean most filters.

This is a professional grade, fast action cartridge filter cleaner to remove dirt, oils and scale. It is produced by Filbur Manufacturing - the supplier of most of our high grade filter cartridges. Pure 'n Clean melts away calcium, minerals, dirt and oils and works at least as effectively as our powder filter cleaners. The deep penetrating action renews cartridge filter efficiency and flow rate.

Just spray well into the filter pleats, leave for 10 minutes and rinse thoroughly.
