This Del MCD-50 high output CD ozonator kit is simple to install, premium quality, and extremely reliable. It is designed for hot tub users who want optimal water quality utilising an increased output of ozone (50% more than the Del Eclipse unit).

CD ozone technology saves money because the solid state generator chip uses up to 80% less energy than a conventional ultraviolet (UV) ozonator.

This ozonator activates, usually during a pre-programmed filter cycle, some hot tubs have a 24hr circulation and ozone mode. We recommend that your ozone should run for between 6 and 8 hours a day. The unit does not blow air, air is drawn through the ozone on a venturi system. Usually you will find a designated water jet plumbed in to the shell of the hot tub somewhere near the centre or sometimes a drain. Water will pass through the jet sucking in air through the ozone injector which will be connected to the ozone. During a filter cycle the ozone unit will be powered up, the corona discharge mechanism will kick in and charge the oxygen with ozone which enters the tub and in turn helps to kill bacteria with the aid of the sanitisers in the water.

The MCD-50 features solid state electronics to eliminate voltage spikes that can upset spa-pack electronics or trip your RCD. As an added benefit, water backup into the unit will neither harm it, nor trip the spa's own RCD.

These ozonator kits come with a great installation manual, non-return valve and plastic tubing. Even if you only need to replace the ozonator from an older one already in your spa, you will also need to replace the tubing and non-return valve as ozone will harden and split plastic tubing/components over time.

The CD electrode inside the unit is easily replaceable so you don't have to replace the whole unit once it has expired. Electrodes last approx 2-3 years.

Very easy to install as a replacement unit, I also found the ozone tube to be around 50cm to short.
Led indicator is for main power only and does not indicate the ozone output but according to Dell.com the unit is rated for 15,000 hours of use, I have mine on a timer at the moment set for 8 hours per day.
With this high output unit and with the correct sanitizing routine a very low ppm can be achieved.

The ozonator was easy to fit both in size and instructions. The only problem was the pipe enclosd was far to short. It would be better if the was an indicator on the unit to state it was working although it was soon obvious when the bubbles were seen rising from the circulation /heating outlet on my Sundance Spar.
