LEISURE TIME ALKALINITY INCREASER

What is Leisure Time Alkalinity Increaser?

total alkalinity increaserLeisure Time Alkalinity Increaser is a safe and convenient way to increase the Total Alkalinity of your hot tub water and also to prevent pH fluctuations

Why should you balance the Total Alkalinity of your spa water?

Low Total Alkalinity causes hot tub water to be corrosive.  The effect of this corrosion may be seen in staining, etching or distorting of the tub surface and in damage to the pump and heating systems.  Low Total Alkalinity may also cause the pH of the water to fluctuate excessively.

You can measure the level of Total Alkalinity in your water using any of the freely available hot tub water testing options.

You should maintain total alkalinity levels within the ranges shown in the following table.

>
Sanitiser Recommended TA range

Chlorine / Bromine

125 - 150 ppm (mg/litre)

PristineBlue

30 - 90 ppm (mg/litre)

BaquaSpa

80 - 120 ppm (mg/litre)

Aquagarde / Active Oxygen

30 - 150 ppm (mg/litre)

Directions for Use:

Leisure Time Alkalinity Increaser is a granular formula.  For best results it should be dissolved in a small plastic container filled with spa water.

  • Add 1oz (55g or 2 tablespoons) to the spa

  • Allow water to circulate for 30 minutes.

  • Retest and repeat until the Total Alkalinity reaches the desired level.

You should always adjust your Total Alkalinity before you adjust the calcium hardness or pH.

Compatible with chlorine, bromine and biguanide sanitisers.

Contains Sodium Hydrogen Carbonate - 906g
