FILTER BRITE
What is Filter Brite?
SpaGuard Filter Brite is a
cleaner to remove oils, greases, scale and rust from hot tub
filters and improve filter efficiency. Filter Brite also
sanitises the filter, preventing the accumulation of bacteria
and algae.
Why is it Necessary to Clean the Filters?
Most spa problems are caused by
poor or insufficient filtration. A filter that is operating
properly helps keep water clean by capturing suspended particles
as the water passes through. When the filter is dirty or
clogged, both the filter’s efficiency and the water circulation
will be adversely affected and the water quality will
deteriorate, becoming dull and lifeless. Most domestic spas have
a cartridge filter. Typically, you should clean the cartridge
every 2 – 4 weeks.
Directions for Use:
Remove the filter cartridge (Check your owner’s manual
for detailed information on how to remove the cartridge element for
cleaning) and hose off any debris or loose material. Do not use a
pressure washer, it will be too powerful and may damage your filter.
Soak the filter overnight in a clean, plastic bucket containing one
sachet of SpaGuard Filter Brite per 20 litres of water. Ensure that the
filter cartridge is completely immersed. Clean and rinse the filter
cartridge thoroughly with fresh water.
Alternatively, we have found with our own spas that the dishwasher is an
equally effective and quicker method of filter cleaning. Simply
ensure that your dishwasher is clean and empty. Stand the filters
upright on the lower tray and put half a sachet of Filter Brite in the
soap dispenser. Use a normal 50oC cycle.
For best results and longer lasting filters allow the cartridge to dry
thoroughly before re-installing. We recommend that you
have two sets of cartridge elements so while one set is being cleaned
and allowed to dry the other set can be in service, so minimising time
when your spa can't be used.
Filters should be cleaned every 2 - 4 weeks, depending on your bather
load, and each time the spa water is changed. However,
if you have just started using Aquafinesse you might find that you have
to clean your filters every other day for the first 7-10 days.
