SPAGUARD BALANCE PAK 200
What is
Balance Pak 200?
Balance Pak 200 is a safe and convenient way to increase the pH of
your hot tub water
when the level drops below the ideal range.
[SpaGuard Lo 'n'
Slo can be used to lower the pH level when it rises above
the ideal range]
What is pH?
pH is a measure of the acidity or alkalinity of
your water. The pH scale has a range of 0 – 14, with 7.0
being neutral. Water with a pH below 7.0 is acidic and
above 7.0 is alkaline.
A number of factors can affect
the pH of your spa water, such as dilution with fresh water,
introduction of air, chemicals and bathers, so it is important
that it is checked on a regular basis.
Why should you balance the pH of your spa water?
Hot tub water with very low pH (acidic water) can
cause corrosion of your equipment and staining on the tub
surfaces. It can also be very unpleasant to bath in.
In addition many sanitisers do not perform
efficiently if the pH of the water is not maintained within a
specified range.
What is the optimum level of pH in hot tub water?
A number of factors can affect the
pH of your spa water, such as dilution with fresh water,
introduction of air, chemicals and bathers, so it is important
that it is checked on a regular basis.
The pH level should be maintained within the
ranges shown in the table.

Determine the pH of your water using a test kit or
test strips. If the reading is too low then add SpaGuard Balance
Pak 200 at the rate of 11g per 1000 litres of water.
Pre-dissolve the product in a clean container with
clean warm water. Pour the solution around the spa perimeter and
the keep the pump running. Wait 2-3 hours and then re-check the
pH. If it is still too low then repeat the above
procedure.
If you are unable to maintain an appropriate pH
level in your tub this is likely to be an indication of a
problem in another area. The most likely cause is that
your
Total Alkalinity needs
balancing.
Contains: 1 kilogram Sodium Carbonate (Soda Ash)

NB. When using with other SpaGuard Balance Pak
products, always apply Balance Pak 100 to the water first to
adjust the Total Alkalinity and buffer the pH (this stops the PH
value fluctuating rapidly). Next apply Balance Pak 200 and
finally, if required, Balance Pak 300 to adjust the Calcium
Hardness.
