Your existing Waterway Pump may have a smooth body as apposed to the style of pump shown in the above picture, Waterway USA use various motors such as - Emerson, AO smith, Century Laser, these are all replaced by this European spec. motor (EMG) which is recommended by Waterway for the European market.
It has a rear fan and a finned body design to dissipate heat.

In most cases you will find that the wet end (P/N 315-1220 found on the back of the wet end casing) is the same but the motor may be made by a different company. This is its direct replacement.
